Bethany & Niko’s Wedding in Bridgehampton

The wedding of Bethany and Niko was a weekend-long affair that culminated in a romantic ceremony on the shores of Sagg Pond. With friends and family looking on and Sagaponack’s Main Beach in the distance, the couple exchanged vows under a fully floored Sperry Tent, complete with a rose petal-lined aisle.

Janet O’Brien Caterers + Events Inc. worked closely with Bethany and Niko to plan a seamless wedding that blended a Moroccan feel with bohemian style. The stunning menu blended cuisines from around the world. Passed hors d’oeuvres kicked off the festivities with Champagne, ponzu marinated duck, rare seared tuna, thai samosas, grilled cheese toasts, sushi, tuna tartare, and more.

One of the wedding’s most unique elements was the attention to detail. Bethany personally selected the exotic fabrics, the Moroccan incense burners, and sweets for the kids. These bright pops of color were tempered by the serenity of white linens and ivory sailcloth canopies overhead. Guests mingled and moved between the tented lounge area and the main reception tent. Moroccan lanterns on the dining tables and hanging lanterns throughout both tents provided a romantic glow as day turned into evening.

For the main course, guests enjoyed a family-style meal at long tables. “It is a great way for guests to strike up conversation and share a meal like old friends,” describes O’Brien. “Every family setting offered portions of foods, including Mediterranean olives, spiced pecans, freshly baked breads, and roasted artichoke hearts. Then, for the main course, we served beautiful platters of filet mignon medallions and striped bass filets with a variety of sauces and glazes.”

For dessert, guests enjoyed Bethany’s favorite – tiramisu – plus white chocolate and chocolate wafer sticks, bowls of fresh raspberries, mini cookies, mini eclairs, and biscotti. Not to be outdone, the children all received ice cream with chocolate sauce.

As the night progressed, the festivities continued with yet another surprise: an eclipse across a full moon. The 46 x 105 and 32 x 50 Sperry Tents glowed against the deep blue of the darkening night sky. It was a perfect celebration from start to finish. Congrats Bethany and Niko!
