When Art, Nature, and Romance Collide

They knew they wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony and reception, and after reviewing a variety of options, this couple decided on LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton, a choice not without sentimental value (they had summered in the Hamptons for years). Set in the North Woods on 16 acres, the venue offered an artistic combination of gardens and sculpture as well as a natural grassy amphitheater for their ceremony.

It was no surprise that a couple who live in Nicaragua and who manage the construction of environmentally conscious homes and schools wanted a green wedding. Relying on local vendors, including event planner Beth Helmstetter, florist Claire Bean, and caterer Brent Newsom, they devised a day exemplifying thoughtful details and romantic elegance.
